Bungalow Heaven and the Craftsman living room
A Craftsman living room usually has a lot going on: built-in bookcases, a brick or tile fireplace, a row of windows looking out on the porch, sometimes beams across the ceiling. Floor space is the real limit. A tree that looks right on the lot can take over half the room once it's standing between the couch and the bookcase, so think about width as much as height.

For most bungalows, a 6 to 7 foot tree is the sweet spot. A Douglas fir gives you the full, bushy shape and sweet smell most people picture in a front window. If your corner is narrow, tell Dana how wide the spot is when she sends photos, so you can pick a tree that fits. Under a beamed ceiling, measure to the underside of the lowest beam, not to the ceiling boards.
Setup is where an older house benefits most. We put down floor protection first (old hardwood scratches easily), set the tree in its stand, get it straight, add water and sweep up the needles before we leave. Trees up to 7 feet are covered by the setup price.
