Local notes

Delivering Christmas Trees in Echo Park

Echo Park Lake is about 4.8 driving miles from our partner lot in Glendale, right where our delivery price steps up at the 5-mile mark. So in Echo Park it's worth a word about the map before we talk trees. For most of the neighborhood, north and west of the lake, Christmas tree delivery is $98 to your door or $198 with setup. Some streets on the southern side come out a little over 5 miles.

The rest is simple. Tell us your address, your date, drop-off or setup, and roughly how tall you want to go. Dana sends photos of numbered trees, you choose one, and she checks the miles, the stand, the steps and the total with you before you pay. Both price tiers are laid out on our pricing page.

Steep streets, long stairways and where the van stops

Echo Park is built on hills. Baxter Street, up in Elysian Heights, is regularly listed among the steepest streets in Los Angeles, and plenty of the blocks around it are only a little gentler. Houses sit above or below the street at the end of long runs of steps, and on some blocks the gap between parked cars barely fits one vehicle.

None of that stops a delivery, but it shapes one. Tell us about the street and the stairs when you order. Stairs and tight access are a small extra charge, and Dana quotes it before you pay. If there's a driveway or a wider spot nearby where a van can pull over, mention that too.

On a hill, setup is often the easier choice: we carry the tree in, protect the floor, put it in the stand, get it straight, add water and sweep up. More on our delivery and setup page.

Victorians, hillside cottages and older apartments

Echo Park's homes are as mixed as its streets. Angelino Heights, one of the city's first suburbs, sits on the hill just east of the lake, with its row of Victorian houses along Carroll Ave. Elysian Heights has cottages and bungalows tucked into the slopes, many of them up a flight of steps from the street. Along Sunset Blvd and Alvarado St, it's mostly older apartment buildings, duplexes and courtyard buildings.

Each one puts the tree somewhere different. In a Victorian, a front parlor or a bay window is the classic spot. In an older apartment, it's usually whichever corner sits farthest from the wall heater. Before you order, measure the ceiling, the front door and any tight turn in the stairwell; a tree that fits the room still has to get there.

A Douglas fir is full and bushy with soft needles and a sweet smell, good for filling a corner. A Noble fir has open, layered branches stiff enough for heavy ornaments, and it can look a little airier in a small room.

Is my Echo Park address under or over 5 miles?

It depends on which side of the lake you're on. One easy route from the lot runs along Los Feliz Rd into Atwater Village, then down Glendale Blvd over the LA River, through Silver Lake and past the west side of Echo Park Lake. By the time the van reaches the lake, it has covered about 4.8 driving miles.

North and west of the lake, addresses usually land under 5 miles: $98 drop-off, $198 setup. Some southern streets, down toward the 101, can come out a little over, which means $148 or $248. For comparison, Silver Lake is a bit closer to the lot. We confirm your exact driving miles when you order.

Close to the line, the difference is $50 either way: $98 or $148 for drop-off, $198 or $248 with setup. Dana tells you which tier your address falls in, along with the full total, before you pay.

Echo Park Christmas Tree Delivery FAQ

Christmas tree delivery near Echo Park

Christmas tree delivery and setupAll delivery areas

Is Echo Park in the $98 tier or the $148 tier?

Most of Echo Park, north and west of the lake, is in the under-5-mile tier: $98 for drop-off or $198 for delivery and setup. Some southern streets come out just over 5 miles, which puts them at $148 or $248. Tree prices are separate from delivery, and Dana sends them with the photos. We confirm the exact driving miles and the full total before you pay.

My street is steep and my house is up a long staircase. Can you deliver?

Yes. Tell us about the street and the stairs when you order, and send a photo of the way up if you can. Stairs and tight access are a small extra charge that Dana quotes before you pay, so the total you agree to is the total. On narrow blocks, let us know if there's a driveway or a wider spot where the van can stop.

My apartment building has a locked gate and a call box. How does that work?

It works fine, we just need a way in. Tell Dana how the gate works and your unit number when you order. Hanniel texts when the crew is on the way, so you can come down, buzz us in or meet us at the gate. For drop-off we leave the tree at your door; with setup we bring it inside and put it in the stand.

How tall a tree should I get for an older Echo Park apartment?

Measure your ceiling first, then leave room for the stand and a topper; about a foot of clearance is a good rule. Check doorways and any tight turns in the stairwell too. Setup covers trees up to 7 feet, and taller trees are a small quoted extra. Our Christmas tree size guide walks through it.

Do I get the exact tree from the photo?

Yes. Every tree Dana photographs has a number. The one you pick is tagged with your order number after payment and set aside in the holding area marked PAID. When Hanniel loads the van he matches every tag to its order, so tree #37 is the tree that shows up.

Are there any extra charges?

Only for stairs, tight access, a tree over 7 ft, or an address more than 10 driving miles away. We always quote the extra before you pay, never at the door.
