Craftsman bungalows and Spanish revival on the flats
The flatter streets on either side of Colorado Blvd are full of early 1900s Craftsman bungalows and Spanish revival houses, with postwar homes mixed in. These are the houses with a deep front porch, a few steps up to the door, and a living room that opens into the dining room. If there are steps, mention them when you order: Dana adds any stair charge to the quote, and you see it before paying.

Craftsman living rooms often have built-ins, a fireplace and dark wood trim, and the tree usually ends up in a corner by the front window. A Douglas fir suits that look: full, bushy and soft, with the classic sweet smell that carries through a smaller house. If you collect heavy glass ornaments, a Noble fir holds them better on its stiff, layered branches. Our tree page has more on both. If the corner by the window gets strong afternoon sun, pick the shadier wall.
